Voice phishing related to new address system

The Financial Services Commission and Ministry of Security and Public Administration issued an announcement urging financial consumers to be cautious about financial fraud related to the new address system(address based on road names) which went into effect on January 1, 2014.

Financial institutions, in any case, do not call customers requesting to change the address registered in their electronic system. To change the conventional address into the new address based on street name, financial consumers must sign in to the website of the respective financial institution, or visit nearby branches.

Moreover, financial institutions never ask for customer’s resident registration number, bank account number, and passwords. When changing address on financial institution’s website, customers are only required to use public authentication certificate and OTP(One-time Password).

In case of any damages, please call 122(police), 1332(FSS), or the respective financial institution to block transaction.
