Internet and phone banking will be accessible only with computer and cell phone registered for use in advance



As a means to protect financial consumers from electronic financial transaction frauds, personal identification process will be intensified from September 26, 2013. Users of internet and phone banking will only be able to use the services through the computer and cell phone which the user has designated and registered for use in advance when transferring more than 3 million won at a time or reissuing internet banking authentication certificate. In case a consumer intends to use unregistered devices, the user has to go through personal identification verification process by answering the ARS hard-line phone call or sending SMS to the respective financial institution for verification. Internet banking users have to inform the bank of new telephone or cell phone number before September 26. Overseas users should register the phone number used in the country of current stay.
