Venture capital market aims to provide necessary funds to venture companies which are equipped with cutting-edge technology and greate potential for growth but suffering from lack of finance due to relatively weak business foundation. A seminar was held on Friday, August 23, to discuss measures to vitalize venture capital market with the participation of FSC chairman, executives of various financial firms and SMEs.
Voices have been growing calling out for a need to vitalize venture capital market to make it better serve venture companies’ needs. To such backdrop, FSC chairman Shin Je-yoon, during the seminar, announced that the financial regulator is planning to announce the measures to vitalize venture capital market in the nearest future after thoroughly discussing the matter with the industry.
He emphasized that the government is considering to maximize private sector participation in order to improve the current problematic venture capital market structure. The FSC is also considering to expand the size of the National Happiness Fund to further reach out helping hands to the individuals and SMEs.
