Uzbek government officials paid a visit to Korea recently to take part in seminars and field studies on insurance industry supervision.
The Financial Supervisory Commission said it invited two officials and one employee from the State Insurance Inspectorate under Uzbekistan’s Finance Ministry for five days from June 12 to 16. Their visit is a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Korea and the Central Asian nation to strengthen the bilateral partnership between both nations’ financial authorities.
The invitees were Chief of State Insurance Inspectorate Olim Ikramov, insurance policy official Utkirbek Abullaev, and a working-level employee. The event included lectures on the two countries’ insurance industries and visits to Korean insurance firms.
The Korean side gave an introduction of the country’s insurance industry and its development and a lecture on insurance information and management as well as auto insurance theory, while Ikramov explained Uzbekistan’s insurance industry.
They also visited the Korea Insurance Development Institute, Hanwha Life Insurance, and insurance company Korean Re and learned about these insurers’ organizational structures, operations, and business knowhow.
